    December 31
    Happy New Year Skiers πŸ™‚
The current grooming report today is as follows: all trails groomed and track set ( except the top side of Harmon- from the shelter to Harmon Lake). There was just enough new snow to track set, it is still close to the base ( some icy sections) but over all looking real good! Bright sky and a big moon tonight.
Cautionary note : A tree fell across Kane ( apprx. 500 meters from January Landing), this tree will be removed January 1 in the a.m. There is also a tree across Tolko ( it can be stepped over) but will be removed in the week.
Happy skiing and thanks again to our groomer, Darren.

A beautiful day of skiing we had on December 28th from Kane to Matthew’s Loop and back to P2. There were some slippery sections under the trees but overall pretty good with the little amount of snow we have had. The road to P2 was plowed excellent, as well as P3 parking lot too. Thanks to the wonderful VSA grader operator.
December 29-30th we have had about 6 inches of fresh snow and our grooming contractor will hit the trails tomorrow and do some grooming and track setting (providing it does not get any colder ). I will post the areas he grooms after he lets me know how his day went. It is -28 here today, with the brightest beautiful sky πŸ™‚ Happy New Year to everyone and a big thank-you to our groomer, Darren.

We had 4 inches of fresh snow today on a packed base. The conditions are great for skiing. Its -24 tonight but should be sunny and pleasant tomorrow, perfect for a wilderness ski experience. The groomer will be out as soon as it warms up a bit.
    Cheers & Happy Skiing!

Skiied Mathew’s loop this afternoon – beautiful snow conditions and not as chilly as in town (no wind!). Definitely worth the drive out, although it could use a grooming now (lots of tracks from yesterday’s skiiers).

We got 6 inches of snow last night at lower Kane Valley – Coldwater end….I’m not sure what the trails got.

Looking for a ride from Vancouver!

Hi there folks. Live in Van. Hoping to make it out to the Kane Valley in the new year. If anyone is interested in car pooling, I’m willing to pitch in for gas. I would totally accept a one-way lift (to the Valley), if that works best. Email me if this interests you: ginna_abr@yahoo.ca Cheers! Ginna.

    Hello Wonderful Skiers, πŸ™‚

2 NNSC groomers were out grooming and have groomed Hills Homestead, Kane, Matthew’s Loop, Chute, Ravine’s Ridge, ASP, Gulch, Over Easy, Cross Over, Tillicum, Menzies, Vale, Sky High. on December 4 & 5th.
Track Setting will begin once the weather cools a bit, as with the current conditions, setting would be difficult and create icy conditions.
Some sections of Kane have smaller amounts of snow ( 6-8″) and the rest about 12″ snow. Happy skiing to one and all.
*****Please note that a set of ski poles were found at P1. Please call Mike or Shelley 250-378-5513.

Did Ravens Ridge. Getting warm and the groomed trail is solid. There was a snowmobile track coming from Iron Mountain.

  10. Tracy Dunsmore says:

Skied Matthews loop today. The conditions were great and the sun was shining.

  11. Steve says:

I LOVE skiing at the Kane Valley, but since I live in Vancouver, I don’t get there often. That being said, I check the blog frequently. For others coming from afar, I have found a website with Kane Valley weather – it is based in Norway! I have no idea where they get their info from, but someone has researched it! http://m.yr.no/place/Canada/British_Columbia/Kane_Valley

  12. Andrea says:

Several were skiing Ravens, Gulch and Kane yesterday – no track set yet.

  13. Alan Burger says:

Some trails are groomed and a few keen folks have been skiing. Sun and cloud and -6C today in Kane Valley
