We have reports of good skiing with fresh snow on the trails today and great snow-shoeing too. There’s still plenty of base snow – we’ll just have to see what the warmer weather will do the next couple of days….

Thanks to Danny Concalves of Shaw Communications Merritt for giving us this publicity.

It’s -1 and snowing in Kane Valley this morning! It just started, only a slight skiff at the moment….but it looks promising. Darren did a full day of grooming yesterday on the major trails.

Please post your comments if you get out on the trails today,
    Thanks.

I skied Hill’s Homestead & Kane today – generally good skiing although a bit rutty in places. Probably best to go early on these sunny days. It got a bit tricky for waxing later as it warmed up.

A mix of sun and flurries this morning and -4 with a skiff of snow overnight. It’s gorgeous out there! Yesterday I found a toque on Menzies and left it on the sign post at the junction with Ravens.

Very nice skiing this morning for a short ski from P3 – Vale, Ravens, Asp. The air temp. was 0 but snow temp. was -4 so it was nice fast skiing on an inch of new snow with flurries in the air. The groomed base is crunchy in places esp. under the trees and on slopes that melted recently in the sun. Snow conditions are likely more consistent on the north-facing slopes (Hills Homestead side). It’s snowing pretty hard at home here this afternoon in Kane Vly. west.

    Hi!
I am planning to open a bike and Nordic ski shop in Merritt this spring.
We are conducting a survey to understand the needs of the ski community.
Spending a few minutes to complete the survey and pass the link on to the Nicola Nordic Ski Club would be much appreciated!
